Romantic Rider Terms of Service

Effective: September 10, 2026 · Unified Edition v1.0 (Appendix A: Per-App Applicability)

This is an English translation provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Korean version prevails.

Article 1 (Purpose)

These Terms govern the conditions and procedures for using the apps and related services (the "Service") provided by Romantic Rider (the "Operator"), and the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of users and the Operator.

Article 2 (Covered Apps and Definitions)

  1. These Terms apply commonly to the following apps distributed by the Operator: Spacetime Diary (nationwide edition) and Namhae: Spacetime Diary (Namhae edition). Features differ between apps; the differences are listed in Appendix A. When the Operator adds a new app, it may be brought under these Terms by updating Appendix A.
  2. "Service" means all features provided by each app (photo capture with time/location overlay, map diary, gallery import, tourism information, landmark visit stamps, per-place photo sharing, links to external tourism services — per-app availability in Appendix A). Feature composition and names may change with updates.
  3. "User" means a person who uses the Service under these Terms. The Service can be used without signing in; some features such as photo sharing require an account.
  4. "Account" means the service credential created by signing in with a Google or Kakao account (social login). Accounts operate on a common basis across the apps covered by these Terms.
  5. "User Content" means all photos, memos, and records a user creates and stores while using the Service.
  6. "Shared Content" means the photos (with accompanying information: capture time, linked landmark) that a user chooses to publish to other users under Article 7 and uploads to the Operator's server.

Article 3 (Posting and Amendment of Terms)

  1. The Operator posts these Terms in the app and on this page.
  2. The Operator may amend these Terms within the bounds of applicable law, announcing amendments at least 7 days before they take effect (30 days for changes unfavorable or material to users) via in-app notice or this page.
  3. Continued use after an amendment takes effect constitutes agreement. Users who do not agree may stop using the Service and delete the app.

Article 4 (Content of the Service)

  1. The Service is free. Users' photos, locations, and memos are stored only on the user's device by default. The Operator does not collect User Content to its servers except Shared Content (Article 7) and account information (Article 6).
  2. Map display and address conversion use the Naver Maps API. Tourism information comes from public and regional data such as the Korea Tourism Organization TourAPI, queried directly or via a server managed by the Operator depending on the app (Appendix A). Coordinates required for these features are transmitted from the device to the respective recipient; details follow the Privacy Policy. The Operator may change data sources and delivery methods to improve quality without separate notice, unless the change is unfavorable to users.
  3. Some apps display banner ads to fund operations (Appendix A). Ads are served through Google AdMob; information processed for ads follows the Privacy Policy. The Operator does not individually select ads or advertisers and is not a party to transactions for advertised products or services. If an ad causes harm, contact romanticrider.app@gmail.com and the Operator will take steps to stop displaying it.
  4. Some apps provide links to external services (regional tourism platforms such as Nangman Namhae, related institutions' web pages — Appendix A). Transactions such as reservations or purchases made on external services are between the user and that service (or vendor); the Operator is not a party to such transactions and does not guarantee external services. External services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
  5. The Operator may introduce paid features or change the form and scope of advertising, announcing such changes in advance via in-app notice and amendments to the relevant documents.

Article 5 (Changes and Suspension of the Service)

  1. The Operator may temporarily suspend all or part of the Service for updates or maintenance.
  2. Features may be limited due to causes beyond the Operator's control (force majeure, carrier outages, failures or policy changes of external APIs and services including maps, tourism data, and social login providers). If the sign-in or photo-sharing feature malfunctions, the Operator may temporarily suspend it, while keeping shared-album viewing and reporting available where possible.
  3. The Operator may change or terminate all or part of the Service for substantial managerial or technical reasons, with prior notice per Article 3. After termination, User Content stored on devices remains on the devices; Shared Content and account information stored on servers are destroyed after the period stated in the termination notice.

Article 6 (Accounts)

  1. Users who wish to use account-based features (Appendix A) may create an account by signing in with a Google or Kakao account. Without signing in, all other features remain available, including viewing and reporting in shared albums.
  2. Accounts may only be created by persons aged 14 or older.
  3. Users are responsible for keeping their social login accounts secure. The Operator is not liable for consequences of third-party use of a user's account absent the Operator's intent or negligence.
  4. Users may delete their account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app. Deleting an account also deletes the account information and Shared Content uploaded with it. If the app is inaccessible, follow the Account Deletion Guide.
  5. The Operator may restrict sharing features or suspend/delete an account for material violations of these Terms or applicable law (including Article 8). The Operator will state the reason without delay, and the user may object.

Article 7 (Photo Sharing)

  1. Users may publish photos they select right after capture to per-landmark shared albums (availability per Appendix A). Sharing happens only by the user's explicit choice; unselected photos are never transmitted to the server.
  2. Shared Content is viewable by all users of the Service (including those not signed in) in the landmark's album. Up to the latest 50 photos are kept per place; older photos are removed as new ones arrive.
  3. Copyright in Shared Content belongs to the user. The user grants the Operator a royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, reproduce (including generating thumbnails), display, and transmit Shared Content solely to the extent necessary to provide the Service. This license ends when the user deletes the content or the account (except that it continues, for review purposes only, during the retention period in paragraph 5).
  4. Users may delete their own Shared Content at any time; deletion immediately removes it from view and destroys it in storage.
  5. Anyone (signed in or not) may report inappropriate Shared Content. The Operator reviews reports and may hide or delete content, retaining reported content for up to 30 days for review. The Operator may take the same measures for content that clearly violates the law or these Terms even without a report, notifying the poster of the reason (unless legally restricted).
  6. Signed-in users may block a poster so that the poster's Shared Content is hidden from them, and may unblock from the block list in Settings.
  7. Where a third party is identifiable in Shared Content (e.g., people), obtaining consents needed for capture and publication is the user's responsibility. If a third party substantiates an infringement and requests removal, the Operator may hide or delete the content.

Article 7-2 (Nicknames)

  1. Users may choose the nickname displayed with sharing features, and the nickname is made public to other users. If no nickname is chosen, a nickname generated automatically by the Service is displayed. The nickname from your social account is not made public as-is.
  2. We recommend not including information that identifies you, such as your real name or contact details, in your nickname.
  3. Nicknames that impersonate another person or an organization may not be used, and the Operator restricts expressions liable to cause confusion, such as the names of public authorities or of the Operator.
  4. The Operator may take necessary measures against a nickname that violates this Article, including restricting its display or requesting a change.
  5. The block list shows the nickname as it was at the time of blocking.

Article 8 (Prohibited Conduct)

Users must not:

  1. attempt to derive source code or algorithms (decompiling, disassembly, reverse engineering), except as expressly permitted by law;
  2. disrupt the Service through abnormal or automated access to the app, servers, external APIs, or external services (including attempts to circumvent upload limits or other restrictions);
  3. reproduce, distribute, sell, or create derivative works of the Service without authorization;
  4. use the Service for capture, recording, or sharing that infringes others' privacy, portrait rights, or other rights;
  5. share obscene content, content infringing others' rights, content promoting hatred or discrimination, or otherwise unlawful content;
  6. disrupt normal use of shared albums, such as repeated posting of content unrelated to the landmark or flooding;
  7. forge or alter time/location overlays, or use overlaid photos to deceive others;
  8. obtain visit-based elements (e.g., stamps) through location spoofing or other improper means;
  9. impersonate another's account or abuse the reporting feature;
  10. engage in any other conduct that violates applicable law.

Article 9 (Location-Based Services)

① Services provided

Using device location, the Operator provides free of charge: recording and overlaying capture coordinates, map display of photos, address conversion, nearby tourism information, landmark visit confirmation (stamps), and per-place photo sharing when chosen by the user — per-app availability in Appendix A.

② Processing of personal location information

  1. Location information is processed and stored on the user's device by default; landmark visit determination (stamps) also occurs only on the device.
  2. For address conversion, coordinates are sent directly from the device to NAVER Cloud's API and used only transiently to generate the response. For nearby tourism queries, coordinates are sent to an external API (Korea Tourism Organization) or to a server managed by the Operator, used only to generate the response, and are not stored by the Operator.
  3. When a user chooses to share a photo, the photo's capture time and the landmark (place) linked by the user are stored on the Operator's server. The photo file's location coordinates (EXIF) are removed before upload and are not transmitted.
  4. Location records on the device are destroyed immediately when the user deletes the photo/record or the app. Accompanying information of Shared Content on the server is destroyed when the user deletes the content or the account.

③ Provision to third parties

The Operator does not provide personal location information to third parties. The place link shown with Shared Content is part of a post the user chose to publish; any separate third-party provision of personal location information will be notified and consented to in advance.

④ Users' rights

  1. Users may revoke location permission in device settings at any time; only location-based features are then limited.
  2. Users may delete location-tagged photos/records and Shared Content in the app at any time.

⑤ Protection of children aged 8 or under, etc.

Where a guardian of a child aged 8 or under, an adult ward, or a person with severe mental disability consents to the use of personal location information for the protection of that person's life or body, consent is deemed given per Article 26 of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information.

⑥ Damages

If a user suffers damage due to the Operator's violation of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, the user may claim damages; the Operator is liable unless it proves the absence of intent or negligence.

⑧ Records confirming use and provision

Under Article 16(2) of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, the Operator automatically records confirmation data on the use and provision of personal location information in its location information system and retains it for six months from the time of recording. This data holds only the fact that use or provision occurred (subject, time, the surface it was provided to, and purpose); it does not include the location information itself, such as coordinates or addresses.

⑨ Fees and conditions

All features involving the collection, use and provision of location information are free of charge; no separate fee is charged to you. However, any data communication charges incurred while using the Service are borne by you under your mobile carrier's pricing. If a fee is ever introduced for location-related features, the Operator will amend these Terms and give notice before it takes effect, and will obtain separate consent where the law requires it.

Article 10 (Rights in User Content and Data Management)

  1. All rights including copyright in User Content belong to the user. Beyond the license in Article 7(3) for Shared Content, the Operator claims no rights in User Content.
  2. User Content stored only on the device may be lost through device loss, failure, reset, or app deletion. Backup is the user's responsibility; the Operator is not liable for such loss. Stamp records are likewise device-only.
  3. Shared albums are a transient posting space subject to per-place retention limits (Article 7(2)), not storage or backup. Original photos remain on the user's device.
  4. Sharing photos externally (other apps, social media) and its consequences are the user's responsibility.

Article 11 (Intellectual Property)

  1. Copyright and IP in the Service (app, logos, design, software) belong to the Operator or rightful owners.
  2. Map data is sourced from NAVER; the illustrated background of the Namhae guide map is a derivative of OpenStreetMap data under ODbL 1.0.
  3. Tourism information is sourced from the Korea Tourism Organization TourAPI and regional institutions (Namhae County, Namhae Baraegil Association, etc.) under their respective conditions. Content of external institutions (folk tales, webtoons) belongs to those institutions; the Service links to their pages without copying.
  4. Users receive only a revocable, non-transferable right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Article 12 (Disclaimer of Warranties)

  1. The Service is provided "as is"; the Operator does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  2. Overlay information (time, coordinates, address) may differ from reality due to GPS accuracy and external API limitations. The Operator does not warrant its accuracy or completeness; using it for legal evidence or other important purposes is at the user's own judgment and risk.
  3. The accuracy and currency of information based on external institutions (attractions, trail routes, festival schedules) follow the providing institutions' data. Verification before visiting is recommended.
  4. Visit-based elements such as stamps may have determination errors due to GPS accuracy limits.
  5. Shared Content is posted by users; the Operator does not pre-verify its accuracy or legality, but operates the report-review-action system under Article 7(5).

Article 13 (Limitation of Liability)

  1. For this free Service, the Operator is not liable for damages absent the Operator's intent or gross negligence.
  2. The Operator is not liable for damages caused by circumstances beyond its control (device environment, network failures, external API/service providers).
  3. The limitations for data loss (Article 10(2)) and for removal under retention limits (Article 10(3)) also apply to this Article.

Article 14 (Dispute Resolution)

  1. The Operator and users shall consult in good faith to resolve disputes amicably.
  2. Unresolved disputes may be brought before the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act; governing law is the law of the Republic of Korea.
  3. Location-information disputes may be referred to the Korea Communications and Media Commission for adjudication under Article 28 of the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, or to the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee.

Article 15 (Miscellaneous)

Matters not specified in these Terms follow the Act on the Protection and Use of Location Information, the Personal Information Protection Act, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions, other applicable laws, and commercial practice.
